How to Measure for Your Dress

Getting your measurements right is the most important step to ensuring your custom Anneprom dress fits beautifully. Follow this guide carefully — and when in doubt, ask a friend to help!

What You'll Need

• A soft measuring tape (not a metal ruler)
• A friend to help for the most accurate results
• Form-fitting undergarments or the bra you plan to wear with the dress
• Bare feet or the heels you plan to wear

The 5 Key Measurements

1. Bust

Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it parallel to the floor. Make sure it's snug but not tight — you should be able to breathe comfortably. Do not compress the chest.

2. Waist

Measure around your natural waistline — the narrowest part of your torso, usually about 1 inch above your belly button. Keep the tape comfortably snug and stand up straight.

3. Hips

Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, usually about 7–9 inches below your natural waist. Keep the tape parallel to the floor.

4. Height

Stand barefoot against a wall and measure from the top of your head to the floor. If you plan to wear heels, also note your heel height so we can adjust the hem accordingly.

5. Hollow to Floor

This measurement is especially important for floor-length gowns. Stand straight and measure from the hollow at the base of your neck (the small indentation between your collarbones) straight down to the floor. Wear the shoes you plan to wear with the dress.

Tips for Accurate Measurements

• Always measure over your undergarments, not over clothing
• Keep the tape parallel to the floor for bust and hip measurements
• Don't hold your breath or suck in — measure naturally
• Take each measurement twice to confirm accuracy
• Write down your measurements in inches and centimeters if possible

Where to Enter Your Measurements

When placing your order, enter your measurements in the order notes field at checkout. Include: Bust, Waist, Hips, Height, and Hollow to Floor. Also note any special requests such as color, length preference, or strap adjustments.
